Opportunities

Acceleration into Financial Professional (AFP) Program

The Acceleration into Financial Professional (AFP) Program seeks to attract talent who have a true passion for finance and to immerse crew in experiences that will help prepare them to serve as future financial professionals and leaders at Vanguard.
Program participants will have the opportunity to build experience through various roles across the Finance division over a 24-month period. There are two rotation tracks to choose from. Examples include:

Accounting track​​​​​​​ 

  • Rotation 1: Accounting Operations.
  • Rotation 2: Financial Reporting.
  • Rotation 3: Risk Management.
  • Rotation 4: Strategy or Financial Planning & Analysis.

Finance track​​​​​​​

  • Rotation 1: Financial Operations.
  • Rotation 2: Risk Management.
  • Rotation 3: Financial Planning & Analysis.
  • Rotation 4: Strategy.

Graduates with a bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Business, or Data & Analytics. We are also open to other majors if candidate demonstrates aptitude.

Data & Analytics Advanced Development Program (D&A ADP)

The Data & Analytics Advanced Development Program (D&A ADP) seeks to attract talent and help crew build a strong technical foundation, business acumen, and leadership skills while gaining hands-on experience in our Chief Data & Analytics Office. The program offers insights into how data & analytics enables personalized client experiences, scaling of advice, optimized investment and business operations, and reduced risk.
Program participants will have the opportunity to build experience through various roles in the Chief Data & Analytics Office. There are two rotation tracks to choose from: Data Analyst ADP and Data Science ADP. In the Data Analyst ADP, participants complete three rotations over a 24-month period. In the Data Scientist ADP, participants complete three rotations over an 18-month period. All participants receive ongoing technical and professional training, contribute to projects, and work with seasoned professionals to gain exposure to diverse assignments and departments

Upon completion of the rotations, participants will work with their D&A ADP leader to identify the best opportunities based on personal strengths and aspirations for launch into a full-time position.

Data Analyst Track

Graduates with a bachelor’s degree with a concentration in data & analytics, statistics, mathematics, computer science, or a related field of study.

Data Scientist Track

Undergraduate degree and graduate studies aligned to data & analytics, statistics, mathematics, economics, or a related field of study, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Emerging Leader Development Program (ELDP)

The Emerging Leader Development Program (ELDP) seeks to attract diverse talent, offer compelling and rigorous development, accelerate crew into broad leadership roles in an increasingly complex environment, and most importantly, produce talent that meets the evolving needs of the business. The program focuses on general people and business leadership skills.
Program participants will have the opportunity to build experience through various roles across the enterprise over a 24-month period. Rotation examples include:

  • Rotation 1: Foundations in client services.
  • Rotations 2 and 3: Project leadership and people leadership.
  • Rotation 4: Aligned career interests.

Upon completion of the rotations, participants will work with their ELDP leader to identify the best opportunities based on personal strengths and aspirations for launch into a full-time position. They are also paired with a senior leader mentor for at least one year following completion of the program.

Financial Advisor Development Program (FADP)

The Vanguard Financial Advisor Development Program (FADP) seeks to attract, develop, and retain financial advisors for Vanguard’s advice services. The program offers crew the opportunity to develop skills critical to success as a financial advisor while working directly with an experienced CFP® professional.
Program participants will have the opportunity to build experience through various roles across the Personal Investor division over a 27-month period. Rotation examples include:

  • Rotation 1: Advisor Support Group.
  • Rotation 2: Personal Investor Sales Group.
  • Rotation 3: Mass Affluent Advice.

Upon completion of the rotations, participants will launch into a full-time position in Vanguard’s High Net Worth Advice Group.

Current college seniors enrolled in a CFP Board-registered program.

Investment Management Development Program (IMDP)

​​​​​​​The Investment Management Development Program (IMDP) seeks to attract talent and offer crew exposure to Vanguard’s portfolio management methodology, investment research and analytics, product strategy, and risk management practices, ultimately to serve as future investment professionals and leaders for Vanguard.
Program participants will have the opportunity to build experience through various roles across four different investment functions over a 24-month period. Rotation examples include:

  • Rotation 1: Investment Strategy Group or Portfolio Review Department.
  • Rotation 2: Fixed Income Group.
  • Rotation 3: Equity Investment Group or Quantitative Equity Group.
  • Rotation 4: Investment Management and Financial Risk.

During rotations 3 and 4, participants will work with their IMDP leader to select a career path that aligns with their personal strengths and aspirations.

  • Malvern, PA.
Graduates with a bachelor’s degree with a concentration in finance, accounting, economics, statistics, mathematics, or computer science. Participation in extracurriculars that demonstrate leadership and a strong passion for investments, markets, and asset management is a plus.

MBA Development Program

The MBA Development Program seeks to attract diverse top talent from targeted business schools by offering compelling and rigorous development, accelerating crew readiness to assume broader leadership roles in an increasingly complex environment, and most importantly, producing talent that meets the evolving needs of the business.
Program participants will have the opportunity to build experience through various roles across the enterprise over a 15-month period. Rotation examples include:

  • Rotation 1: Center for Analytics and Insights.
  • Rotation 2: Investment Stewardship.
  • Rotation 3: Corporate Strategy.

Upon completion of the rotations, participants will work with their leader to identify the best opportunities based on personal strengths and aspirations for launch into a full-time position.

Graduates who have completed an MBA program with a minimum of five to eight years of related work experience, including relevant exposure to strategy, consulting, business analysis, investment management, and leadership.

Technology Leadership Program (TLP)

The Technology Leadership Program (TLP) seeks to attract talent and help crew build a strong technical foundation, business acumen, and leadership skills while gaining hands-on experience in the Information Technology division. The program offers insights into how technology supports company initiatives and an understanding of Vanguard’s systems, products, and services.
Program participants will have the opportunity to build experience through various roles across the Information Technology division over a 24-month period. Rotation examples include:

Application Development track

  • Rotation 1: Front-End Application Engineer.
  • Rotation 2: Cloud Platform Engineer.
  • Rotation 3: Solutions Consultant.

Investment Systems track

  • Rotation 1: ETF Management Application Engineer.
  • Rotation 2: Securities Lending Application Engineer.
  • Rotation 3: Index Data Engineer.

Risk and Security Analyst track

  • Rotation 1: Identity and Access Management Systems Analyst.
  • Rotation 2: Threat Intelligence Analyst.
  • Rotation 3: Vulnerability Management Analyst.

Risk and Security Engineer track

  • Rotation 1: Identity and Access Management Engineer.
  • Rotation 2: DevSecOps Engineer.
  • Rotation 3: Security Assurance Engineer.

Technology Operations track

  • Rotation 1: Network Engineer.
